Very good overall condition. Original canvas. Needs cleaning. No repaint visible under the UV light.

Catalogue Note

Formé à l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Pontoy visite l'Algérie, la Tunisie et le Maroc. Il se fixe à Fès où il devient professeur des Arts et Lettres au lycée Moulay Idriss. Ainsi que l'écrit Elizabeth Cazenave "la peinture de Pontoy est large et franche, faite de touches nettes, et d'une précision éclatante".
