Rare chandelier monumental en tombak, "Cham'adân", dédicacé à Mevlâna de Konya, Turquie, art ottoman, vers 1850

la base large en dôme à paroi bulbeuse, le fût long annelé et mouluré, la bobèche tubulaire, en cuivre et bronze doré (tombak), décor repoussé, gravé et guilloché de tiges fleuries, déclinant en oblique de motifs noués, cinq cartouches sur la base, inscrits en osmanli; bobèche recouverte en cuivre pour un montage en lampe, petite réparation ancienne en bas du fût

Inscription: Sâhib al-Khayrât wa râgheb al-darajât, mudîri Ederneli 'Izzat, Effendinek madina mazkura da darghâh Hazrat, Mawlâny-e waqf ildiki sham'adân, sanat 1276H. fi 21 zi al-Qi'da. (This candelstick is an endowment, on 10^th June 1860, by Edirneli 'Izzat for the Shrine of His Excellency Mevlâna).  The Shrine of Mevlâna is in the famous Monestery of Mevlevites in Konya. Melvâna Celaleddin Rumi was the founder of the Mevlevites order (d.1273). This candelstick has an exceptional large size. The importance of its dimensions combined with the information given in the text engraved on the base indicate that it was commissionned by an important dignitary.
