Description

  • porcelain
  • Height: 5 1/2 inches
each of slightly flared fluted form raised on five ruyi-form feet, painted around the sides with flowering plants between lappet and ruyi  borders, the interior and base enamelled in turquoise, apocryphal Qianlong seal marks in iron-red.

Condition

One has a 3/8 inch long chip under the rim edge, three of the feet broken off and glued back on and some wear to the gilding on the rim edge. The other has as 3./4 inch shallow chip to the molded edge of the upper rim edge, three feet broken off and glued back on and some wear to the gilding on the rim edge. This one also has small patches of flaking to the enamel in the turquoise lappet border around the lower body. Both have two holes in the base which have been later filled - it appears that these holes were original to the piece. Both have been used as jardinieres and exhibit degredation of the glaze on the interior - the glaze is mostly matt and on one is flaked in the base. Both have some limescale staining on the glaze.
