Description

the upper section fitted with two long ormolu-mounted doors, inlaid with a white marble top and fitted with a broken ormolu gallery, the roll top mounted with ormolu bands and handles cast with scrolling acanthus, the interior fitted with two long compartments above four short and two longer drawers and a leather-inlaid pull out reading surface, the frieze fitted with two short rectangular drawers on the left side and one near-square drawer, centered by a long central drawer, raised on fluted carved legs terminating in casters.

Condition
With scattered minor age and construction cracks. Most age cracks to sides of central section, slightly more extensive on left side where veneer is now slightly uneven. Minor cracks and unevennes to central drawer at around keyhole where veneer is with minor restored chip. Scattered dents and abrasions with left side of upper section with a horizontal area approximately 6in. in length with most dents. Scattered scuffs and surface scratches. Minor losses to wood at edges and corners. Refinished. Ormolu with some rubbing, minor oxidation and surface dirt. Vey minor buckling to metal inlay. Leather inlay possibly original and now with cracks, abrasions and rubbing. In good, restored condition.
