A suite of Baltic Neoclassical ormolu-mounted and parcel-gilt walnut seat furniture circa 1800, remounted

comprising two chairs and two armchairs, the outcurved solid top back rail mounted with ormolu figures of winged mermaids and putti, garlands and acanthus, the armchairs with giltwood armrests terminating in dolphin heads, the sides of the chairs decorated to match, the seat rails mounted with ormolu cast with palmettes and acanthus, the sabre legs with giltwood top section figured as swans and terminating in ormolu paw feet.

With scattered age and construction cracks; most to reails of backrests, some with old restorations. Some lifting and age cracks to seat rails on some. Further small restorations and infills. One with patches to back legs. Scattered dents and abrasions; most to edges and corners. Scattered losses to gesso in gilt areas. Remounted, mounts now with some oxidation and surface dirt. Lower back rails appear to have been previously mounted. Refinished. In good, restored condition.
