Condition
Please note that none of the paintings have been inspected outside the frame. All the paintings have scattered spots, which are possibly pigment losses on the white background some are heavier than others. The brushstrokes also appear to be visible. The first painting in the catalogue illustration has light rubbing underneath the horse's rear hooves. The second painting in the catalogue illustration has a 1/4 in. scratch to the white background behind the figure. There is an approximately 1 in. long scratch to the glass above the figures thigh. The third painting in the catalogue illustration has been rubbed on the top left hand corner. The bottom left hand corner has small chips. Small areas of the white background have been restored. The painting with the figure wearing a red coat and holding a sword also appears to have white restoration to the background. The painting with the figure wearing a red coat and holding a pennant has an approximately 5 in. scratch to the glass. This is painting has heavy black spotting to the background. There is a zigzag scratch to the top left hand corner and a scratch to the white background under the horse's tail. The white background also has brown stains. The painting with the figure wearing a blue coat and holding a pennant has some short scratches and restoration to the white background. There is some rubbing to the white background behind the horse's neck, minor lost to the pigment on the horse's foot approximately 1 in. long and a scratch to the horse's belly. The painting with the figure wearing a white coat with sword has short scratches below the saddle cloth, some small restored areas to white background, loss of pigment below horse's neck and two spots on the rump. There is a small spot on the edge of the white coat. There are small scratches on the glass and a scratch to the bottom right hand corner.
