rounded rectangular, the base with incurved sides and central urn-form lamp, winged cabriole legs ending in paw feet, partly gadrooned body with band of oves at the shoulder, gadroon shell and scroll rim, lion's-head spout with fan-shaped ivory tap, sliding finial, engraved on both sides of body with contemporary arms and coronet, crest and coronet on base, lamp, and cover.

The arms are those of Cornelius O'Callaghan (1775-1857); his father was M.P. for Fetherd in the Irish Parliament, while his mother was the daughter of the Rt. Hon. John Ponsonby, Speaker of the Irish House of Commons.  In 1806 he was created Viscount Lismore of Shanbally and commissioned John Nash to build Shanbally Castle, the architect's largest castle in Ireland (demolished 1960).  The Viscount married in 1808 Eleanor, sister of the 1st Marquess of Ormonde; they divorced in 1826.  He served as Lord Lieutenant of Tipperary from 1851 until his death.
