Overall in very good original condition. Please note the measurements of this work, as it is a large scale table. The table is designed with inset parchment panels, which shows signs of gentle use and subtle variation of color, which appears the result of light use and age. A few of the panels with minor abrasions to the parchment, and some with light surface nicks, dings and scratches. The cerused oak frame is in excellent condition with some surface scratches and edge nicks which are difficult to see in the complexity of the surface of the material. There is some variation to the liming across the frame, which appears inherent in the design and not an issue of condition. The brass detailing with some light discoloration which is consistent with the natural aging process of the material. A very rare opportunity to acquire a large scale work by this noted designer of the 20th century.

For Paul Dupré Lafon, his aesthetic was to create entire rooms with sophisticated austere designs, in which the decadence of the materials and rarity of his vision proclaimed his expertise.  Trained as an architect, his furniture designs reference a classic sensibility with a strict attention to the dramatic statement achieved by each elegant work in an interior. His works combine the softness of parchments and leather, with modern metal detailing. By designing on commission for only the most prominent clients in Paris, Dupré-Lafon's works are as rare as his style during the 1930s.
