Slight signs of wear at extremities, dampstain in doublures and endleaves which are also lightly frayed.

Catalogue Note

A handsome Cosway binding with two large oval portraits of Wesley by C.B. Currie set into the upper and lower covers. Maroon crushed morocco, double fillet border, the miniature surrounded with a gilt-tooled floral frame, gilt edges, gilt-ruled turn-ins, gray watered-silk doublures and endleaves, by Rivère & Son, gilt-stamped in lower doublure "Miniatures by C.B. Currie." Number 927 of the Cosway bindings according to a printed leaf signed by J.H. Stonehouse and C.B. Currie bound in.
