Catalogue Note
A nostalgic Cosway binding with a circular miniature of an Irish lass bearing a bouquet, painted on ivory by C. B. Currie, and set in the upper cover. Dark green crushed morocco, single-fillet border around a thin frame filled with gilt dots, gilt clover and leafy stamps along the frame, the miniature encircled by a dotted frame with leaf and heart-shaped stamps, dark green watered silk doublures and endleaves, edges gilt, by Rivière & Son, gilt-stamped on upper doublure "Miniatures by C.B. Currie," number 812 of the Cosway bindings according to a printed leaf signed by J.H. Stonehouse and C.B. Currie bound in, in a green cloth slipcase.
