Catalogue Note
A magnificent Cosway binding with 11 portrait miniatures painted on ivory, probably by C. B. Currie, set in the upper cover. Dark blue crushed morocco, single-fillet border surrounding a dense field of elm leaves in blind on a ground of small gold dots with small clusters of berries made of inlaid red morocco, with gold-stamped imperial "N"s, gilt-ruled turn-ins with similar red morocco inlays, red watered-silk doublures and endleaves, top edge gilt, by Rivière & Son, in a red morocco solander case. Number 302 of 800 copies.
