Catalogue Note

A handsome Cosway binding with six portraits of Napoleon and a small landscape painted on ivory by C.B. Currie, set in the upper cover. Brown morocco, upper cover with elaborate gold roll-tooled floral frame around a large circle stamped with alternating tools of "N," a bee and an imperial crown, lower cover in green crushed morocco with double-fillet border and triple-fillet frame surrounding stamped imperial arms, gilt-stamped vase at four corners, all edges gilt, red watered-silk doublures and endleaves, by Rivière & Son, front pastedown with gilt-stamped "miniatures by C.B. Currie."
