Condition
The first: colors are brights and fresh. Work is affixed to back mat with three paper hinges along top edge. The second: vertical crease marks visible along right edge with 1/8 inch and smaller losses, a few faint crease marks on left edge, colors are bright and fresh. Catalogue Note
The present works are among the artist's first interiors commissioned by Charles de Beistegui (1895-1970) as a record of the fantastic decorations of his Château de Groussay. De Beistegui purchased the Château in 1938-9 and enlarged it with the help of Emilio Terry (1890-1969) the Cuban artist and interior designer.
