Condition

Overall in very good condition, with very minor surface scratches, some minor veneer lifting at the edges, and a few edge nicks. There are a few small losses to the veneer, which are concentrated to the top and edge of the screens, which does impact the presentation of the piece. The work is comprised of a geometrically patterned set of inlays which have been treated to display an almost shiny surface. The impact of the intricacy of the pattern and the treatment of the materials is much more impressive in person than in the catalogue illustration. The screen with original applied metal feet and the decorative scheme continues on both surfaces of the screen. The hinges appear original and move with ease. An iconic design by Frank, and the present example remains in very good original condition.
