Condition
Oranges & Bananas:
The canvas is unlined and slightly dimpled at the top. The surface of the picture is in generally good condition, aside from a heavy coat of varnish, slight scuffing, and craquelure, which is probably intentional. There is also a slight scuff in the varnish that goes slightly into the paint surface in the upper left quadrant. Under UV light, there is evidence of inpainting in the craquelure, as well as at the edges from an abrasion.
Fruit basket:
The canvas is unlined and slightly loose on its stretcher. The picture surface is in generally good condition, though there are small, very slight spots and lines of discoloration evident in the background of the work and a minor dimple at center left. Under UV, these are revealed to be inpaints. There are a few minor scattered inpaints along the lower edge of the work as well.
