contained in a turned ivory two-tiered etui with scalloped foot and basketweave openwork body, the upper section decorated en suite and threaded to attach, with scalloped threaded lid, the set comprising 56 ivory discs in two sets of 28, engraved with amusing romantic allegorical vignettes and accompanying French mottos.
Condition
The discs with age cracks, small chips, wear and abrasions. Vertical age crack to bottom section of etui.
