the hinged rectangular top mounted with an ormolu plaque displaying interlaced L and P and fitted with a mirror on reverse opening to an interior fitted with a number of compartments, some of which are constructed to receive the detachable legs, the frieze with oak leaf and acanthus ormolu bands and drapery-form ormolu handles, raised on detachable tapering tubular ormolu legs.

Condition

Mahogany refinished, the top with scattered age cracks. Some infills and restorations to mahogany, most to around key hole. Interior with further age and construction cracks, also refinished. Minor chips to mahogany at around central plaque of top. Mirror plate with some foxing. Underside with one larger age crack due to shrinkage of wood, also visible in interior and now with later filler that is only visible on underside. Ormolu with some rubbing, minor surface dirt and oxidation. Central plaque late 19th century, associated. In good overall condition.
