Condition

Occasional minor wear to gilding and enamel as well as some occasional further scratches. The meat platter: There is a crack running from the upper right side of the platter first down and then parallel to the upper border, which has been partially riveted; the same crack forks into another extended crack running across the base of the platter. Soup tureen and cover: There is a starcrack on the base of the tureen with one of its arms running across the base. Square vegetable dishes and covers: One dish has a u-shaped hairline crack running around and below the central decoration. The other dish has an approximate 4-1/2-inch haircrack running across the base. One cover has a y-shaped haircrack running just below the knop. Rectangular vegetable dishes and covers: The rectangular vegetable dishes possibly had liners, which are now lacking; therefore the covers are ill-fitting. One dish has considerable crazing in the center of the dish. Oval dishes and a cover: One has an extended haircrack running from the edge of the rim near one of the handles and across the base. The other has been broken into two and glued back; the restoration seems to be stable. Octagonal dishes: One 16 ¾-inch platter is broken into two. One 12 ¼-inch platter has some discoloration especially in the center and around the rim. One 10-inch platter has a haircrack making a loop around the center on the right hand side and stopping at the cavetto on both ends. Dinner plates: Three plates with a small chip below the rim; two with a minor chip at the edge of the rim. One with a few chips to the footrim. Two, each with a haircrack running across the base. One with a starcrack near the center that extends to the footrim and in one case to the rim edge as a sprung crack. One has two separate Y-shaped and another 2-inch haircracks near the center of the base. Soup plates: One with a footrim chip; one with a haircrack running down from the rim towards the center; one with a small chip at the edge of the rim. Dessert plates: One with a ¾-inch rim chip; one is broken along the rim, measuring approximately 8 inches long, and reaffixed. One with an approximate 1/2 –inch chip below the rim. Sugar bowls and cover: One is lacking its cover. One bowl has a re-glued ½-inch break at the edge of the rim, where the handle is located. The other has an approximate 5-inch break, running along the rim.
