Catalogue Note
While in the collection of the famed Hollywood set designer Tony Duquette, the present headdress was loaned to MGM pictures for use on the sets of several films including the "The Barkleys of Broadway" (1949), starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, in which it can be seen in the art gallery scene. It also served as inspiration for several of Duquette's designs, including headdresses for the 1955 film "Kismet" and the stage costumes for the original Broadway production of the "Camelot" in 1960.
