  • height 16 1/2 in. 41.9 cm
with stepped foot in two degrees, a frieze of confronted lions and boars on the edge of the rim, and linked lotus buds on one side of the neck, painted on one side with three racing young jockeys, the trailing horse emerging from behind the panel frame, the leading horse leaping in front of it, reins in added red, and on the other side with a staff-bearing man flanked by confronted himation-clad youths.

Condition

Repaired from mostly large fragments, with a little restoration along some of the break lines, minor chips and scratches, overhanging rim restored next to handle on side B, so that the animal is missing, half-inch chip on the inner rim, slight retouching in spots.
