Condition

The finials on the covers have possibly been reduced in height. One vase has a 1/4-inch chip to the top edge of the foot. The other with several chips to the edge of the foot.

According to the note included with this lot when they were offered at Sotheby's, London, December 18th, 2001, the vases were reputed to have been exhibited at the Vienna International Exhibition of 1873.
