the lid surmounted by a page playing a trumpet, the body carved in the round with the seated king surrounded by his knights and subjects, the mounts embossed with palmettes and fruited and foliate cartouches, struck with psuedo-hallmarks including maker's mark MM.

Condition

Overall in good original condition. Some minor yellow-toned staining, consistent with environmental effects. Traces of gold coloration suggest former gilding.
