the finial with a seated cupid holding a torch by a scrolled cartouche, the body carved in high relief with Bacchus on a donkey attended by a nymph, a satyr and companions, the handle with a stylized sea creature, the mounts embossed with acanthus leaves, struck with German control marks and 925 standard.

Condition

Overall in good original condition. With no visible loss or chips to ivory. Some very minor yellow-toned staining, consistent with environmental effects. The silver with the usual tarnishing consistent with age and environmental effects.
