the lid surmounted by the standing figure of Bacchus and a putto, the body carved in the round with Apollo, personifying reason, in a horse-drawn chariot, a servant blowing a conch shell to announce his arrival, followed by an inebriated Bacchus and female devotees, the mounts embossed with mask and scrolled foliate, struck with Nuremberg and Augsburg pseudo-hallmarks.
Condition
Overall in good condition. Vertical age crack to ivory tankard body. Some tarnishing to silver gilt and yellowing of ivory due to age and environmental effects.
