the lid surmounted by two cupids, and the body carved in the round with Neptune and Amphitrite being crowned by Psyche and attended by nereids and sea creatures.

Condition

Overall in good condition. The base is flanked by two masks of Neptune with visible minor chips Neptune's hair. Replacement to section of "thread of life" held by female figure. Cupid finial with repairs: tips of toes, neck, arms and replacement of conch shell. Some yellowing and hairline cracks consistent with age and environmental effects.
