surmounted by a carved figure of Cupid drawing an arrow, the body carved in the round with a Bacchic ritual scene showing musicians and dancers, carved ivory handle with a silvered metal thumbpiece. 

Condition

Overall in good condition. Yellowing consistent with age and environmental effects. No apparent losses to the carving. Some vertical hairline cracks consistent with age. The finial is not contemporary to the tankard, as it is displays a much lighter color. The tankard is finely carved.
