The complete portfolio, comprising 14 lithographs printed in colors, in and hors-texte, 1964, 12 signed in pencil and numbered XII/LXXV, (there was also an edition of 150 in Arabic numerals), the chapter heading and tailpiece unsigned as issued, on Arches wove paper, published by Editions Fernand Mourlot, Paris, with title page, text by Julien Cain, and justification, with the original linen-covered portfolio, 12 sheets framed (14 prints)
Condition
The prints are in good condition with full margins. All with pale time stain in the margins, half additionally with very pale light- stain. The unframed sheets with two diagonal creases in the upper right corners and occasional mottled foxing. The portfolio with minor staining and soiling, the linen fraying at the spine. Additional minor imperfections in the plates are as follows:
Zebulun (CS 16) and Dan (CS 18) with soft handling creases along lower sheet edge.
Ruben (CS 12) with pale mat stain in the margins.
Simeon (CS 13) with a mottled fox mark at lower sheet edge.
