The complete portfolio, comprising 32 intaglio prints, in- and hors-texte, with text in French by Aimé Césaire, 1950, signed in pencil by artist and author on the justification page, numbered 50, from the edition of 219, published by Éditions Fragrance, Paris, on Montval wove paper with the watermark Corps Perdu, contained in the orange paper-covered boards and slipcase (32 prints)
Condition
The prints are in good condition apart from pale scattered fox marks throughout (though largely away from the images), several pages with discoloration at top and right extreme sheet edges, a few sheets with soft handling creases and rare areas of surface soiling. The boards with slight surface soiling, particularly at the spine, the slipcase with areas of surface soiling and a few stains, the orange attenuated, cracks and separations at seams.
