Description
- glass
- 10cm to 30cm, 4in to 11 3/4 in high
comprising: a pair of spirit decanters ; a pair of squat scent bottles and a taller example engraved with The Royal and Military Order of St. Louis, of France ; a fluted decanter reserved with the cypher of Marie-Caroline, Duchesse de Berry (1798-1870), ensuite with a pair of spirit decanters and a fluted jar with a cover engraved with wreath (chips and scratches)
Condition
typical minor chipping to all.
1st decanters: chips to base of stoppers, one with bruise to neck and two chips to fluting of body, the other with long shallow chip to foot along and another slightly deeper to foot rim.
Squat scent bottles: one with extensive chipping to neck rim.
fluted decanter: extensive chipping to base of stopper, lot of scratchings, grizzle effect to interior of glass, shallow chipping to shoulders.
Ensuite pair of decanters: one with minute chips and bruises to neck and foot rim, the other with bit missing to base of stopper, a third of neck rim missing and associated crack which runs thought the neck downs throught the upper part of the body and horizontally around the back up through the shoulder of the opposite side terminating to the left of the engraved crest.
