Condition

In generally excellent condition. The hand-made paper mounts and text inserts crisp and clean, apart from the title insert which is slightly yellowed and the text insert by Walker Evans which is slightly yellowed along the edges. The photographs have a semi-glossy surface and are in generally excellent condition. Car & fence & bush – San Diego, California 1970: with a soft fold near the right edge (approx. 4 cm) visible only in raking light. Man in window – New York City 1964: with a very soft fold (approx. 13 cm) along the upper edge at right only visible in raking light. Plane over bull – Kansas City, Missouri 1965: with a very soft fold along the right edge only visible in raking light. The box with a few traces of use: traces of water stains at the left edge, a few stains of white paint in the top right corner and at the top edge at left. These few shortcomings are marginal and hardly affect the generally excellent aspects of the portfolio.
