Condition

These photographs are in generally excellent condition, except where noted below. Upon close examination, a few pin-point-sized impressions that do not appear to break the emulsion are visible overall on most prints. The reverse of each print is annotated in pencil 'Portfolio NY 1954-55.' The plates are as follows: Dance in Brooklyn, September 1954 - Upon close examination a pen-point-sized deposit of original retouching is visible near the left subject's raised arm. Spanish Harlem, September 1954 - This print is framed. Upper Broadway, October 1954 - In raking light, a 3-inch surface scuff is visible in the lower right quadrant of the image. 57th Street, November 1954 Horn & Hardart's, November 1954 - This print is framed. 5th Avenue, November 1954 Xmas, Macy's, December 1954 - This print is signed, titled 'Macy's department, Christmas Shopping,' dated '1977,' and editioned 'No. 3' in pencil on the reverse.
