Condition

The photographs are overall in generally excellent condition with the following minor exceptions: In the Lubliner Yeshiva 1937: A 1/8-inch hair appears to be dried on the print's surface approximately 2 inches from the left edge. The lower right margin corner is bumped and creased. 'Cracow 1937. The Great Scholar of Talmud' and 'Heder in Tjacovo. Carpatho Ruthenia. 1937': Visible in raking light are tiny, barely noticeable areas of retouching in the right and left portions, respectively, of the prints. At 26 the lines of her brow reveal the hardship of the past. The future is known-martyrium in the Holocaust: Original retouching is visible in the lower portion of the image. In raking light, a very small surface scuff that does not break the emulsion is barely visible near the right bottom edge. The folio case is in generally excellent condition. The corners are lightly rubbed.
