Condition

This photograph, on paper with a light texture and surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. In raking light, some silvering is visible, primarily in the dark areas near the sitter's hair and her calves. There is a small linear crease in the left margin. On the reverse of the print, 'I-8-147' is written in pencil. The mat is in generally good condition. There is a sharp horizontal crease across the lower portion of the original paper mat, as well as coffee-colored staining. There are small tears along the upper mat edge. The reverse of the mat is unevenly age-darkened.
