Condition

This richly detailed, warm-toned print is on paper with a surface sheen and is in generally very good to excellent condition. Close examination reveals minor edge wear and attendant scant emulsion loss, although this is not immediately apparent. When the print is examined very closely in raking light, occasional of linear indentations and impressions can be seen on the surface, none of which appears to break the emulsion. Faint silvering is visible in some of the dark areas, primarily in the upper left corner of the print. There is a faint fingerprint in the sky area and light soiling near the upper print edge, some of which is likely due to graphite transfer from a previous mat. None of these issues detracts from the overwhelmingly fine appearance of this print. On the reverse of the mount, the following notations are written in unidentified hands in pencil: 'H-46' (circled); '#1762'; and 'Box 13.' When examined in ultraviolet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
