Description

  • Edward Weston

Condition

In addition to the print of this image in the Center for Creative Photography, Tucson, Conger locates prints in the following institutional collections: Huntington Library, San Marino; The Museum of Modern Art, New York; The Art Museum, Princeton University; and Special Collections, University of California, Santa Cruz, this last a Project Print. This print, on paper with a surface sheen, is in generally good to very good condition. Visible in raking light is heavy silvering throughout. Also visible in raking light are the following: a few small surface scratches that do not appear to break the emulsion (the most noticeable being a tiny cluster of scratches to the lower left of the tub); and a one-inch surface scuff to the lower left of the tub. The mount is slightly bowed, and the upper mount corners are bent slightly. There are stray light red marks on the mount, and light soiling on the reverse. There are small light brown-colored deposits of indeterminate nature along the lower front mount edge. On the reverse of the mount, '45' (circled) and '39' are written in pencil.
