Description

  • Robert Mapplethorpe
  • 'SILVER DOLLAR'
  • dye-transfer
dye-transfer print, flush-mounted, the photographer's copyright stamp, signed and dated, and with the title, date, and edition '7/10' in ink on the reverse, framed, 1988

Condition

Although this dye-transfer print has not been examined out of its frame, it appears to be in generally excellent condition. The colors remain rich and saturated, with no apparent fading. The reverse of the print has been affixed at its corners to a textured mount. The print margin corners are bumped slightly. The reverse of the frame has windows for viewing the stamps and written information on the reverse of the photograph's mount. This print was acquired from Martin Lawrence Limited Editions, Inc., New York, in 1997, and the reverse of the frame bears this gallery's label.
