Condition

This portfolio is in generally good condition. There are a few noticeable issues that bear mentioning, but most of these affect the mounts and not the prints themselves which are in generally excellent condition. The one print that is very slightly affected is Teklanika River, Plate One. When the print is examined closely in raking light, some faint unevenness is evident in the adhesion of the print to the mount in the upper right quadrant. Some discrete interior areas of the print appear to have lifted somewhat --- this is only visible upon very close examination and is not apparent under normal viewing conditions. A few of the mounts bear very light traces of foxing. The upper left corner of a few mounts have a very small slightly, discoloured water staining. There is a very slight musty odor attendant to the photographs and portfolio case. As noted, there are two sets of title sheets, and one set is slightly yellowed, while the other is in good condition. The portfolio case is partially slightly discoloured. The portfolio was purchased in the 1960s by the present owner and has remained in the family collection since.
