An unpublished cover design for Gruelle's Raggedy Ann in Cookie Land, which was published by P.F. Volland Co., Chicago in 1931.
Gruelle (1880–1938) is primarily known for creating the character Raggedy Ann, which he first created by decorating a faceless rag doll for his daughter. In 1915 he began to manufacture and sell Raggedy Ann dolls and in 1918 he published his first collection of Raggedy Ann stories.
