le fût, probablement France, vers 1845, formé de trois odalisques enchaînées, la coupe et le pied postérieurs en agate brune à monture ciselée de feuilles d'acante émaillées, le couvercle au même modèle, la prise en forme de Vénus et Cupidon, son large bord en vermeil émaillé, gravé au-dessous d'une signature apocryphe Fossin et fils à Paris
the stem, probably French, circa 1845, cast as three chained odalisques, the later bowl and base of figured browned agate with enamelled acanthus mounts, the lid ensuite, its finial cast as Venus and Cupid, its wide silver-gilt border applied with raised enamel scrollwork, the underside of rim with prestige signature Fossin et fils à Paris

Bowl cracked on one side (4cm), small losses to enamel, central silver and hardstone lid detached.
