centrée d'une scène du Jugement Dernier, les personnages probablement du XVIe siècle, émaux en ronde bosse, enrichie postérieurement de pierres précieuses et émaux ajourés, le dos gravé de rinceaux feuillagés  

incorporating at the centre a spirited representation of the Last Judgement, the figures probably 16th century, enamelled en ronde bosse, the whole enriched by additional jewels and openwork enamel ornament, the reverse engraved with foliate scrolls 



Condition

One small figure lacking at the front; some enamel losses and restoration particularly on green hemispherical stand to figures; visible joins in ebonised wood frame at back and spartion of wood at one corner of base. A most dramatic piece.

Catalogue Note

Despite their diminutive size, the figures of the serried ranks of the saved and the damned are most dramatically portrayed with, in the foreground, an enthusiastic devil dragging some poor soul to hell.
