Condition
The first with piqué in very good condition with almost no losses; the lid has been cracked and very well repaired in several places around the rim of the lid, being reinforced around the hinge area; presumably the later thumbplate was added at this time.
The second is also in good bright condition with a small amount of timewear but less than usually found.
