Catalogue Note
En 1589, Benedikt Wurzelbauer achève à Nuremberg la fontaine des vertus, commande du conseil municipal. Les vertus illustrées sont l'Amour, l'Espérance, la Bravoure, la Sobriété et la Patience, surmontées par la Justice. Le maître à la licorne a probablement été influencé par l'iconographie de cette fontaine pour réaliser cette timbale.
