the lid inset with an earlier miniature of a gentleman in armour, German school, early 18th century, the ground striped in tobacco brown and white over engine-turning within enamelled bead and garland borders, prestige marks including charge of Jean-Jacques Prévost and discharge of Jean-Baptiste Kalendrin, later French control marks

Condition

very small firing flaws and almost imperceptible losses to white beads and green leaves of borders, otherwise in very good and crisp order throughout.
