Catalogue Note
Les armes sont celles d'Etienne, marquis d'Aligre (1770-1847), chambellan de la princesse Caroline Murat, soeur de l'empereur Napoléon I, pair de France en 1818, et de sa seconde épouse; Louise-Charlotte-Aglaé Camus de Pontcarré (1776-1843) qu'il épousa le 21 juin 1810. Un autre ensemble de seize pots, de forme légèrement différente, aux mêmes armes, fut vendue chez Sotheby's Paris, 10 avril 2008, lot 55.
The arms are those of Etienne, marquis d'Aligre (1770-1847), chamberlain to the Princess Caroline Murat, sister of Napoléon I, Pair de France in 1818, and his second wife Louise-Charlotte-Aglaé Camus de Pontcarré (1776-1843) whom he married in 1843. Another serie of 16 pots applied with the arms was sold Sotheby's Paris, 10 April 2008, lot 55.
