le premier à pommeau en quartz rose en forme de hibou, les montures en or, pierres précieuses et émail, probablement Vienne, vers 1900, 90 cm ; 35 3/8 in ; trois petits exemplaires au pommeau en ivoire taillée, France, milieu du XIXe siècle, un exemplaire à pommeau en corail, un autre à pommeau en porcelaine, Allemagne, et le dernier au pommeau doré en forme de balle tressée, 70 - 104 cm ; 27 1/2 - 41 in




the first with rose quartz carved owl handle, jewelled gold and enamel mounts, the green cabochon eyes matching the green enamelled collar, wood shaft, primrose silk shade, probably Vienna, circa 1900, 90 cm ; 35 3/8 in ; three small examples with carved ivory handles, black lace, silk or ostrich plume shades, various sizes, French, mid 19th century; one with coral handle, ring and ferrule carved with vine tendrils, black silk shade, labelled for R.Charageat; one with tau-shaped German porcelain handle, malacca shaft, pink silk shade with simulated tortoiseshell and horn tips and mounts; and one with woven gilt ball handle, malacca shaft, black and white silk and lace shade, 70 - 104 cm ; 27 1/2 - 41 cm


Condition

1: some scratching on shaft otherwise good; 2-4: one with handle initialled IB, one with damaged black lace shade; 5: lacking tip of ferrule, some damage, losses and regluing to shaft handle and ring; 6: some wear to handle, dented mount; 7: slight staining to shade which is detached from spokes, some scratching and lacquer losses on shaft
