Catalogue Note

Jacques-Félix Viennot specialised in plain and coloured gold both before and after the Revolution. He first became master in Paris in April 1785 from the rue de Harlay, sponsored by Jean-Barthélemy Nivert. He also entered two later marks for 'le gros bijou et la joaillerie', in 1800 from 16 quai des Orfèvres and in 1812 from 156 rue St-Honoré.

Etienne-Pierre Rousselet entered a first pre-revolutionary mark in Paris on 26 April 1788 and a second later mark in 1799-1800 for 'bijouterie : le gros bijou' from 67 quai de l'Horlogerie. In 1811 Rousselet moved to 26 quai Pelletier where he is recorded until 1821.
