Condition

The actual painting is a lot less yellow and warmer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The canvas has a stable, if slightly firm relining. The paint layer is secure, and no damages are apparent. Some minor old scattered retouches can be made out in the wooden background. The paint surface is under a dirty and yellowed varnish. Inspection under UV light reveals a few tiny additional retouches in the central painting and in some of the letters, and ribbon. Offered in a plain wood frame with a gilt fillet, with some small chips.
