Provenance

Dr. F.W. Hudig, Amsterdam (according to a label on the reverse).

Condition

The panel is flat, stable, and made from a single piece of wood which is beveled on all four sides. The picture is under a rather thick varnish. Scattered retouches are visible underneath the varnish, mostly located in the background and in the darks of the red drapery of the figure at left. The ground is coming through slightly in the background. Paint quality is high in the figures with good retention of paint. In a carved and painted wooden frame.
