Description
- Full length portrait of a boy
- oil on canvas
Condition
This canvas has been relined. There is a strip of canvas, approximately 1 inch in width that has been added to the upper edge of the canvas. The surface has been slightly flattened due to the relining and the canvas weave is evident. Retouches are visible to the naked eye, addressing what appears to be an old diagonal tear, about 4 inches in length in the lower left. Under UV, there is an old, thick varnish, with very few retouches in the figure. Retouches are evident along the strip of added canvas at the top. The picture is quite dirty and would respond well to cleaning. In an old, elaborately carved and gilt wood frame with putti, fruit and flowers.
