The painting is a little redder in colour and less yellow than the catalogue illustration suggests. The support consists of single flat panel and the dirty pint surface is under a thick varnish. The catalogue illustration gives a true idea of the condition of the painting: the abrasions and losses are visible, particularly in the neck and shoulder whilst the face left shoulder and hair are better conserved. Other losses and scratches are scattered throughout. Inspection under UV light reveals some scattered retouchings. Offered in a later wooden frame in good condition.
